Bedded Overland

Bedded Overlanding is for travellers who prefer sleeping in a bed, rather than on a mattress on the ground, accommodation is in basic chalets, bungalows, traditional huts and occasionally backpackers or guest houses, it is usually twin share or double rooms with ensuite bathrooms in Southern Africa, whereas in East Africa, bathrooms may be shared with others and you need to bring your own sleeping bag, pillow and towel.

The level of participation on bedded tours is generally restricted to packing of the truck and assisting with the occasional meal preparation, and the maximum group size is 18 on these trucks which makes for a more spacious truck to cover the long distances.

The routes travelled are quite similar to the Camping Overland routes so there is no missing out on the breathtaking scenery, from rugged mountain ranges and tropical forests, where chimpanzees and gorillas hang out, to windswept deserts and fertile plains, teeming with antelope. All the adrenalin activities await in Swakopmund and Victoria Falls, from sandboarding and quad biking to bungee jumping and white water rafting.
