Day 1: Johannesburg
- includes breakfast

Sunrock opened its doors in 2002. The Lodge with all its charm and hospitality is run by owners Arthur and Ina Johnson assisted by a well-trained, professional team.
Our home has a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere, full of books, music, good wine and home-cooked meals. We love socialising and enjoy a glass of red wine. We cater for both smokers and non-smokers.
Surrounded by a beautiful garden with mature tropical trees, it is a great get-away retreat, where roses, green lawns and a cool blue pool sparkle in a luscious garden.

Day 2: Blyde River Canyon

Day 3: Kruger (Timbavati area)

Mooiplaats Safari Lodge is a small intimate safari lodge comprising of five modern luxury tent chalets, designed after the classic safari tent but with all modern amenities. Build around a waterhole and connected trough wooden walkways all tent chalets enjoy plenty of privacy. Each tent chalet has its own en suite bathroom with a bath, separate shower, an outside shower and a private sundeck.

The main lounge area offers you a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a drink or a good book while overlooking the birdlife around the waterhole. You might even spot the occasional giraffe or zebra coming for a drink. The sundeck around the pool is the place for those who just want to sit back, relax and enjoy the African sun.

Dinner and breakfast are enjoyed outside on one of the decks or, on a chilly winters night, in the cozy lounge illuminated with candles and oil lamps. Mooiplaats Safari Lodge offers an exquisite modern South African cuisine with European influences using only the best, mostly regional, products.

Day 4 and 5: Kruger National Park

Nkambeni Tented Lodge is located inside the Kruger National Park. The entrance to the lodge is through the Kruger National Park’s Numbi Gate close to White River and Hazyview. Our permanent luxury tents offer you a en-suite bedroom with air-conditioning and a Jacuzzi on your private deck. Our restaurant offers true South African hospitality and local food. A range of safari adventures are available at the camp.
At Nkambeni Tented Lodge we are committed to the preservation of pristine wilderness areas. Our suites are designed and constructed to guarantee minimum impact on the natural habitat. For that reason the suites have been built on wooden stilts.

Day 6 and 7: Swaziland

Hawane Resort is designed as a Swazi village, complete with surrounding wattle fence and a rivulet meandering between the huts. The reed-thatched huts or Chalets are comfortable, with fine beds and linen.
There is a relaxed atmosphere at Hawane, combined with their outdoor opportunities: Horseback riding through the green rolling hills, hiking or mountain biking in Malolotja Nature Reserve, with an option of their houseboat on a dam nearby, a favorite location for bass fishermen.
Hospitality is particularily warm and welcoming. The chef at the all-day restaurant cooks good "African fusion" food and the wine cellar is well stocked.

Day 8 and 9: St Lucia

Day 10 and 11 : Drakensberg

The Antbear Guesthouse is a thatched, whitewashed cottage built high on a natural platform overlooking the Bushmans River and Giants Castle. Recommended day trails for beginners and tourists with limited time.

The Drakensberg Mountains present three very different perspectives to its hikers. And I recommend you see each of these aspects. I have selected the following as recommended trails because of their ease, spectacular scenery and last but not least they are well off the beaten tourist track. You probably will not even see a single other visitor while walking.

1. Day trail through the lower reaches of the Drakensberg (Northern / Central 'Berg)
Walking the lower reaches below the Drakensberg escarpment is the reason you came to this area. This is the most impressive the Drakensberg has to offer and I recommend Giants Castle Nature Reserve. Try "Worlds View" an easy 3,5 hour hike (14 km) and ends with a spectacular 360 degree view. More of this walking beneath the escarpment can be found at Injasuti, Monks Cowl, Champagne, Cathedral and Royal Natal. Its similar but the scenery is different and all spectacular.

2. To the top of the Escarpment and the 950m Tugela Waterfall
There is only one place you can reasonably get to the top of the Drakensberg escarpment and back down again in one day and that is at the Sentinel. The drive alone is spectacular. The walk is 5 hours 2,5 hours each way. You ascend the last 20 meters using a chain ladder and are rewarded with a view overlooking the Royal Natal Reserve. Also you are at the source of the Tugela river where it falls some 950m. 2nd highest in the world.

3. San (Bushman) rock art in the Southern Drakensberg
Kamberg offers the most spectacular examples of rock art to be found in South Africa. There are many places where Bushman rock art can be found but this is one of the few sites where your imagination is not a prerequisite. Kamberg is situated in the southern Drakensberg (More sandstone and valleys than the spectacular basalt of further North) which gives you another opportunity to experience a different aspect of our Drakensberg.

Day 12, 13 and 14: Lesotho

Malealea Lodge is run by the owners, the Jones family. They are credited with more local knowledge than anyone. Various Basotho childrens choirs and a local Basotho music band using their local homemade instruments entertain the guests in the evenings around a campfire.
Lesotho is a world without fences. Breathtaking scenery abounds and every season has unique attractions. Malealea is situated in a remote part of Western Lesotho that is breathtaking in its beauty. This is a chance to experience traditional Basotho life.

Accommodation – Rondavels and farm house bedrooms , see website
Bathrooms - The rondavels and farmhouse bedrooms are all en suite. There are 3 communal bathroom for the Basotho huts. There are communal facilities for the guests in forest huts and the campers.
Linen - All rooms except the Forest Huts have linen. Please bring your own sleeping bags along if you are staying in a Forest Hut.
Meals - Home cooked meals are served at the Lodge. There is a dining hall and an outside deck where you can enjoy your meals.

Day 15: Oudtshoorn
Depart Malealea at 07h00 so that you can arrive at Bloemfontein airport at 09h00 to check in to your flight :

You will be met upon arrival by Go Cape Transfers and transferred to Oudtshooorn .

Day 15 and 16: Oudtshoorn 2nights

This owner managed African farm is over 2000 hectares . With 3 overlapping flower zones, De Zeekoe is well-known for the meerkat magic conservation project. A warm welcome awaits you upon arrival at De Zeekoe.
Being keen hikers, travellers, 4x4 enthusiasts, nature lovers and mountain bikers, owner Paula and her staff will be happy to assist you in the planning of your itinerary.
De Zeekoe's name originates from the Dutch name for the farm; Zeekoegat, which means a waterhole for hippo. 200 years ago a researcher found a hippo tooth approximately 100 metres from our riverbank.

Rustic self catering cabins on the water’s edge
Only 5 mins drive from the main house, you will find our 4 unique waterfront cabins.
They are built from alien poplar wood that we removed to make way for endemic brush and offer breathtaking views over the lake with abundant birdlife with 162 recorded species and is a malaria free area.
Canoeing and fishing at the lake is ideal for families and to enjoy the scenery and nature around you.
Each of the 4 rustic cabins is equipped with 2 bedrooms, (interleading ceiling), bath with shower, lounge, kitchenette and a large fireplace and deck.

Day 17, 18 and 19: Cape Town 3 nights

Victorian style guest house situated in the suburb of Gardens which is quite close to the base of table mountain, so walking up Table Mountain is easily accessible .Wooden floors and double en-suite rooms that are fully serviced daily with fresh towels supplied. All of these rooms also have individual electronic safes for your added security. These rooms are located in the Ashanti Guesthouses situated three minutes walk from the main building. Some of them are huge. The best bit about Ashanti has to be the view. The view of table mountain from the terrace/balcony of Ashanti Lodge by the bar is so amazing. There are a number of restaurants and a shopping centre near by so it is very convenient to the many activities that Cape Town has to offer.
