Day 1: Johannesburg to Vic Falls
Victoria Falls, one of the most amazing wonders on earth and the starting point of your tour. You'll catch a flight from Johannesburg International to Victoria Falls Airport. A shuttle will be waiting for you to take you to your place of accommodation for the next two nights.
Spend the rest of your day relaxing or walk down to Victoria Falls National Park to explore the park and experience the might of the Zambezi River as it pours over the edge of the falls from several look out points.
In the late afternoon you'll be collected from your lodge for your evening Sunset Cruise, there's not much more romantic than an African sunset.
Option 1: Overnight – Ilala lodge
All standard rooms at Ilala Lodge have got 2 x ¾ beds in a spacious room that is decorated by railway teak. Each room has got an en-suite bathroom all with complimentary soaps , shampoos and conditioners. The bathroom comes standard with a bath , shower and toilet. Standard in each room is an airconditioning unit that ensures guests have a cool retreat to relax in from the heat of the day and overhead is a fan if it is needed. There are french doors in each room that open up to a communal garden. Bottled water is provided for in each of the rooms as well as a kettle for the tea and coffee provided. There is ample in build closet space that will provide a place for guest to put their clothing and personal effects, including a safe to lock away valuables.
Option 2: Overnight – Victoria Falls Safari Lodge
The lodge is decorated in warm African patterns and colours, creating a very homely feeling. The building is multi-levelled, and each floor overshadows the previous one with its spectacular views. The top floor has a small lounge and the most breathtaking look-out spot of all. The staff at the lodge are really friendly and ready to make your stay as enjoyable and memorable as possible.
All rooms are en-suite with luxury bath and separate shower with massaging jet. Wood and glass concertina shutters and doors open onto a private balcony with views overlooking the on-site waterhole or bushveld. There is also remote control air conditioning and ceiling fans to escape the heat of the day and Mosquito nets and mosquito pads to ensure a peaceful sleep at night.
Day 2: Vic Falls Flight of Angels
Today you have the option to go on a breathtaking flight over Victoria Falls. Coined by David Livingstone when he first documented discovering the Falls; "A sight so wonderful that angels must have gazed down on it in flight", the “Flight of Angels” is the most popular of the flight options.
Departing from the helipad, located just 3 kilometres from the Victoria Falls town centre, the “Flight of Angels” is a scenic flight over Victoria Falls with an airtime of 12-13 minutes.
Flying lower than a conventional, fixed-wing aircraft, you will fly a complete circuit over the Falls in both directions, giving you the best views of the Falls. A quick trip up river and back over the Zambezi National park completes your flight.
The rest of the day is spend at own leisure.

Day 3: Vic Falls – Joburg to Kruger
A shuttle driver will collect you from your lodge and take you to Victoria Falls airport to meet your return flight to Johannesburg. After clearing costumes please make your way to Tempest Car Hire where you'll pick up your rental car.
There is only one flight a day from Vic Falls to Johannesburg which arrives to late to drive all the way to Kruger National Park, so tonight you'll stop over in the chic, attractive little town called Dullstroom in the heart of trout country.

Day 4: Kruger National Park
Today you're off to the world famous Kruger National Park. It's about a 2 hour's drive to Kruger Park's Orpen Gate. You should try and get to your lodge around lunch time to be in time for the afternoon game drive.
Option 1 – Thornhill Safari Lodge
Thornhill Safari lodge located within the Greater Kruger Park ecosystem, a mere 40km from Kruger Park's Orpen gate. This area is a premier eco- tourist destination, with ever present views of the Drakensburg Escarpment. Thornhill Safari Lodge offers an affordable getaway with comfortable rooms and excellent facilities in 13 authentic thatch-roof chalets. Vibrant fabrics and local hardwood furniture all create that rustic yet stylish bush atmosphere. All bedrooms have en suite facilities, overhead fans, mosquito nets and wooden decks that overlook the lodge, pool area and surrounding bushveld.
Option 2 – Arathusa Safari Lodge
Arathusa Safari Lodge is located within the northern sector of the coveted Sabi Sand Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park. The lodge flanks the bank of a large waterhole (approximately 250m x 150m) allowing for a 180- degree view of the water. Guests are able to view and enjoy a variety of wildlife, there are usually between 5 and 20 hippos “right on the doorstep” providing 24 hour entertainment.
Thatched luxury suites are within the camp's perimeter. Each have a bathroom en-suite (with bath and separate indoor and outdoor showers), and a verandah for optimum enjoyment of the surrounding wilds.
Day 5: Kruger National Park
Game activities will be arranged for you by the lodge. Normally you'll go on an early morning game drive and the a late afternoon/evening game drive.

Day 6: Kruger to Swaziland
Today you can go on an optional morning game walk where your experienced field guide will tell you more about the ecosystem that makes up the area or you can go on another optional game drive with the park rangers. When you're ready you can make your way down to Komatiepoort where you will exit Kruger National Park. Following the R571 you'll enter Swaziland at Mananga and head towards a town called Siteki
Tonight you will over night in at Mabuda Farm
Day 7: Swaziland to Sodwanna Bay
Today you'll be travelling southwards crossing the Lavumisa (Swaziland) / Golela (South Africa) border posts. You'll travel through the sleepy sugar town Big Bend, approximately set on a big bend in the Lusutfu River just before it joins the Usutu. Then you'll pass Nsoko which lies in the heart of the sugar-cane country, half way between Big Bend and Lavumisa Border post. Make your way to the peaceful and isolated paradise on the northern tip of the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park, Sodwana Bay.
Here you'll overnight at Coral Divers
You'll be staying in an Ensuite Cabin with a double bed, all linen, bath towels, fans and mosquito nets. There are lights and plug points in these cabins. These beautiful cabins are substantially larger with ensuite bathrooms with an open air shower and covered toilet and basin. These cabins have their own private deck where you can relax in comfortable lounger chairs after a day of diving.
Day 8: Sodwanna Bay
Spend the day exploring the water world on a diving expeditions along the coast of Sodwana Bay, classified as one of the top dive sites in the world. This 50 km reef complex boasts around 95 species of hard and soft coral, sponges, other invertebrates and around 1200 fish species.

Day 9: Sodwanna to St Lucia
Today is a short drive to St Lucia. This day is open for you to relax or explore the area.
Over night in Lodge Afrique
Lodge Afriqué is a recently built 4 star guest house with eight free standing luxury thatched suites, each with full Afro-Victorian bathrooms. Lodge Afriqué can cater for up to 16 people at a time. The spacious and luxurious air conditioned suites, each with a private outdoor shower leading off the patio which is situated in a tropical garden with a sparkling pool. All the suites are connected to the central lodge by a raised wooden deck pathway over the beautiful subtropical garden.
Guests gather in the central lodge which includes the breakfast, bar, braai and leisure area equipped with satellite television.
Day 10: St Lucia
Today you can go on an optional Hippo and Croc Tour. This excursion, in a closed vehicle, includes a boat ride on the famous St. Lucia Wetlands estuary, game viewing in the Mfabeni Game Reserve en route to Cape Vidal. After a quick stop at Mission rocks, you will enjoy lunch at Cape Vidal, and have an opportunity to swim and *snorkel in the small protected bay. (*Snorkeling is dependant on weather & ocean conditions) This tour touches on the highlights of St.Lucia Wetlands Park.
Coffee, tea and muffins for breakfast, lunch and beverages and entrance fees are included.

Day 11: St Lucia to Durban
It's about a three hour drive to Durban from St Lucia, so you can decide if you'd like to relax a bit or get to Durban earlier to experience the Durban vibe.

Day 12: Durban to Cape Town
Today you will drop your car off at the King Shaka international and catch a flight to Cape Town. A shuttle driver will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. The rest of the day you are free to explore the Mother City a bit. Then in the late afternoon you must please make your way to the V&A Waterfront where you will board the Spirit of Victoria for your Champagne Sunset Cruise.
Over night in Cape Town at Ashanti Lodge.

A traveller’s paradise: - a large double storey Victorian House with Oregon pine floors, a beautiful wooden staircase with matching balustrade, uninterrupted views of Table Mountain from the deck and groovy café’ bar area, here lights meals are available from 7.30am to 10pm, breakfast ranges from freshly delivered croissants to a big hearty fry-up, other menu items include filled focacia and pitas as well as tasty salads and quick toasties. Tantalising cocktails, local and regional beers are available to quench the biggest thirst.
Day 13: Cape Town
After breakfast you will have the option of a City Sightseeing Hop-on Hop-off topless bus experience , closest stop is the Mount Nelson Hotel departing at 09h38, this will then take you past the Castle of Good Hope and several other attractions before heading up to the Table Mountain cable way station, where you can climb off the bus and purchase a cableway return ticket that will take you to the top of Table Mountain to get a look at the awesome view that looks out west towards Robben Island and north to the Swartland Mountains and east over the Cape Flats. The Hop-on Hop-off bus departs from the bottom of the cableway station at 11h45 and heads down into the luxurious suburb of Camps Bay, which has a beautiful white sandy beach lined with palm trees, for those that would like to take a swim in the chilly Atlantic ocean, here is your opportunity. At 14h00, you can get board the Hop-on Hop-off bus that will take you along the Atlantic seaboard , through Clifton, Bantry Bay, Sea Point and on to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, which has many hotels, restaurants, shops, the harbour is still a working harbour for fishing boats, there is an aquarium, and always many entertainers from mime artists to jazz bands. The last Hop-on Hop-off bus will depart the Waterfront at 17h20 and take you through the city back to the Mount Nelson Hotel.

Day 14: Cape Town to Stellenbosch
Today you'll head out to the heart of the winelands, Stellenbosch. You'll be collected from your place of accommodation in Cape Town and dropped off at your accommodation for the next two nights, Banghoek Place.
Banghoek Place has 12 large en-suite rooms with very comfy queen sized beds. Banghoek Place is set on campus and only a few minutes walk to the centre of town.
You are free to relax at the swimming pool or take a stroll through campus to the town centre and treat your taste buds at one of the many splendid coffee shops or restaurants.

Day 15: Full day Wine Tour
Today you have the option to join a full day's wine tour awaits you. You'll be collected from Banghoek Place at around 10: 30. During the day you'll visit 4 wineries in the area of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek. You'll taste about 25 different wines, go on a cellar tour and taste some gorgeous goat's and cow's cheese. Lunch is also included. You'll return to Stellenbosch around 5pm.

Day 16: Stellenbosch to Hermanus
Your rental car will be ready for you to collect at 11: 00 so you can sleep in a bit this morning or have a final wonder around town. Today you'll head off to the small fisherman's town of Hermanus. You can take the scenic R44 Clarence Drive to Hermanus, from Gordons Bay to Rooiels, Pringle Bay, Betty's Bay and Kleinmond along a steep coastal road carved from rocky sea cliffs. There are magnificent views across False Bay to Table Mountain and the rest of the Cape Peninsula. You can also stop at the African Jackass Penguin Colony in Betty's Bay.
Overnight at Hermanus Backpackers
Day 17: Hermanus to Oudtshoorn
This narrow coastal town, between the fynbos-covered mountains and the waves of the Atlantic is a haven for the outdoor enthusiast. You can either go sea kayaking for about 2hours and explore the magic of this unique coastline with its abundant marine life up close and personal in stable kayaks and in the company of an experienced guide.
OR...go Shark Cage Diving in Gaansbaai only 30min from Hermanus and get up close and personal with one of the worlds ultimate super predators. This should take about 3-4 hours.
After your activity you can start making your way to Oudtshoorn where you'll spend the next two nights at De Zeekoe.
This owner-managed African farm is over 2000 hectares and is part of the world's 17 "hotspots" with 3 overlapping flower zones.
A warm welcome awaits you upon arrival at De Zeekoe.
Only 5 mins drive from the main house, you will find our 4 unique waterfront cabins.
They are built from alien poplar wood that we removed to make way for endemic brush and offer breathtaking views over the lake with abundant birdlife with 162 recorded species and is a malaria free area.
Each of the 4 rustic cabins is equipped with 2 bedrooms, (interleading ceiling), bath with shower, lounge, kitchenette and a large fireplace and deck.

Day 18: Oudtshoorn
Oudtshoorn is Ostrish country and home to Africa's only show cave the Cango Caves. Today you'll have the opportunity to visit both, the ostrich farm where you can touch, feel, sit on or even ride these magnificent birds and go on a guided tour of the Cango Caves.

Day 19: Oudtshoorn to Plettenburg Bay
Plettenberg Bay is the jewel of The Garden Route and is tranquil and charming, hospitable and rather special. Originally christened “Bahia Formosa” (beautiful bay) by early Portuguese explorers, Plettenberg Bay offers the visitor miles of sweeping, un spoilt golden beaches, a dramatic rocky peninsula, intriguing lagoons and estuaries, towering indigenous forests and unpolluted rivers and sea. With its exceptional climate and beautiful view sites over the Indian Ocean, Plettenberg Bay is perfect for travellers interested in exploring, watching or just lazing.
Today is open for you to do as you please.
Overnight at La Boheme

Day 20 Wednesday 2 Feb 11 – Elephant Sanctuary and Birds of Eden
After breakfast you'll head to the Elephant Sanctuary which offers a one-hour trunk-in-hand elephant educational program. An experienced guide introduces you to the elephants, sharing with you their backgrounds, behaviours, personalities and more. You can touch, feed, interact and walk trunk-in-hand with the elephants which takes approximately one hour.
After this amazing experience, Birds of Eden awaits you. The sanctuary is the worlds largest free flight bird sanctuary and home to over 3500 birds.
Overnight at La Boheme
Day 21: Plett to PE to Joburg.
To day you'll fly back to Johannesburg. Port Elizabeth is about a 3 hour's drive from Plettenberg Bay. You can return the car at the airport. We will arrange your flight back to Johannesburg in time for you to catch your flight back home or onwards travel.
